Gameday in Cartagena for the 1/16 final between Cartagena & Villarreal.

Cartagena got some players who left the club : Jaime Romero, Delmas, Tejera & Oscar Arribas. Kiko Olivas & first GK are injured.

On their side Villarreal will be without Lo Celso. Kiko Femenia is doubtful as he couldn't finish the game against Valencia. Francis Coquelin is back in the group but doubtful. Manu Morlanes missed the game against Valencia but he is able to play now.

Cartagena is a club who is recent in Spain, they were founded in 1995, they are in second division since few years now. Despite of having a lot of investment they are doing great this season as they are ranked 8 with 9 wins, 5 draws & 7 losses for 23 goals scored & 21 goals conceded. They aren't in the best form as they lost two of their last 3 games in domestic league. One was at home against Villarreal B.

On their side Villarreal is a top team of La Liga, they are ranked 7 with 7 wins, 3 draws & 5 losses for 17 goals scored & 11 goals conceded. They just won a big clash against Valencia. The game was very important because since that Quique joined the team the performance were not that good but now they are in a good momentum.

Villarreal will go seriously on that game as of course the domestic league title is hard to fight for so they will put ambition in the Cup as it's also a way to qualify for the Champions League who is the main goal for them.

On their last cup game, Villarreal faced a much weaker team and despite of being with 11 against 10 players they had to wait the extra time to qualify. They learned from that game and of course this time they will not under estimate Cartagena. Cartagena will be in trouble with the players who left the team and also the missings. As I said, they don't have big investment so the qualities on the bench are not equal as their key players.
