Molde and Odd lock horns in this Eliteserien clash at Aker Stadion very early Wednesday morning Beijing time. This is the highest level of Norwegian football. The level of this league is mediocre by European standards. Football fans and us serious bettors – with a long-term profit in mind - can expect a match of clearly better than average quality by this league's standards here. Most importantly my fans and I have yet another very interesting betting opportunity here!Both teams have played three games in this league so far. As three games does not tell too much we will have to take a look at last season's results. Molde played a very disappointing last season – ending up in 5th place. In 2022 they took the championship. Molde  grabbed only 51 points which was a whopping 19 points less than the champions Bodo/Glimt managed to take. Finishing worse than much smaller teams Brann (61 points), Tromso (61 points) - and Viking with 58 points was a surprise. Yes, Molde can and probably will improve this season but are still overvalued by the bookies and in the Norwegian football media. Odd played a mediocre last season, taking the expectations into account. They finished in 10th place with 38 points. They, too, will probably do better this season. In 2022  they ended up in 5th place. They are definitely not a small team in terms of financial resources or players' estimated total market value – according to Transfermarkt.com. They do not have any huge starts in the squad but play well as a team and I also trust their coach a lot. However, I do want to mention the ultra-talented left winger Faniel Twelde, 17, who will probably be sold to a much bigger club pretty soon.. His estimated market value is 2 million euros but this is still too low in my expert opinion. He was excellent especially in round 2 against Sarpsborg 08! 

Molde have won all three Elitserien games so far. Odd's record is one win, one draw and one narrow defeat. Molde beat Kristiansund 2-0 at home in their last game. Yes. They deserved to win but were also massive favourites – priced around 1.20 to win by the bookies. They did not fully convince me as a whole. Indeed, the ball possession was 50-50% and the visitors even had many more dangerous attempts. Molde did record more goal attempts though. The expected goals (xG) numbers were 0.98-0.74. Before this they easily beat an amateur team, Eide Omegn 5-0 away from home in an NM Cup clash. In round 2 of Eliteserien Molde beat HamKam, a pretty limited team 1-0 away from home. Molde were priced around 1.65 to win on the betting market. They did record more goal attempts (12-7) but the hosts had more attacks. Odds have won twice and taken one draw in their last three games. In their most recent match they were not at their best and it was a 2-2 draw at home against Sandefjord. The visitors, however, played better than usual. The xG numbers were 1.21-0.94. Before this they easily defeated Askollen on the road 3-1 in a NM Cup battle. In round 2 of Eliteserien they beat Sarpsborg 08 away from home as big underdogs - priced around 4.50 to win. The hosts had 65% ball possession but Odd defended in an organized way. Odd did, however, record more goal attempts, shot on goal and shots off target. The hosts had more dangerous attacks though – 55-42. In round 1 Odd generated massively more than Haugesund in xG (2.78-0.70) but were unlucky - losing 1-2. Yes, Molde, of course, have an edge in all areas of the game here but the odds on the home win are around 1.30 at the time of writing this analysis and this is way too low! Odd will surely defend hard here and Molde will probably find it rather tough to break the visitors' pretty solid defence.. The obvious smart bet here is the Odd +1.5 goals handicap with a 62.50% chance of winning!
